5 Reasons Why Summer Isn't So Bad

I know that I wrote a post before, giving reasons why summer is the worst thing since canned cheeseburgers, but it's time to look at the brighter side of things. (Get it? Because Summer is Sunny? Nevermind.) Summer can be a exciting period of the year, to opposed to the icky hot weather. Below, I'll list four reasons why Summer isn't so bad.

This picture alone should be all five reasons.

1. Summer movies. Don't we all love the hundred of movies coming out during the summer? It's like every weekend, a four new movies come out for your enjoyment. Don't enjoy the cheesy predictable plots? You could still enjoy sitting in a air-conditioned room with friends for two hours right? Unless you hate being cool, and hanging out with friends.

5 Reasons Why Summer Sucks

Summer sucks and once we get past the "No School" deal-a-roo, summer blows. Summer is the hottest time in the year, making it one of the most uncomfortable times of the year. Who enjoys being uncomfortable? A raise of hands? Put those hands down.

  • Summer is Hot. Yep, did you know that? For some strange reason, summer is closely related to the temperature "hot".
    • Warm weather causes one of the most common reactions towards heat, sweat. I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy being covered in sticky, smelly sweat from head to toe from just sitting in a chair. What's that? Why don't I use an air conditioner? Not everyone has the luxury of flipping one on at demand. Air conditioners don't get paid and powered by good wishes and happiness, they get paid but hard-worked cash. Sorry for the news.
    • What would the blistering sun do to us? Death. You can literally pass out from heat exhaustion. The temperature ranging from 70s-100s don't help that much in this situation either. Remember to drink plenty of water boys and girls.
    • Longer days. With the sun beating down at us from almost six AM, to eight PM, that's a full fourteen hours of pure sunlight squeezing the liquid goodness out of our bodies. Sure you'll have more time to 'play' outside, but is it worth the residual heat remaining on the earth while you sleep? If you can afford to use a air conditioner, the increased amount of daylight may affect your sleeping cycle in various minor to major ways.

Summer is You!

For many students, the school year is just about over, what are you going to do this summer?

School, being one of the little stages in life that build our personalities and knowledge that we will base everything else we learn in the future is very important, just as important, Summer Break.

Its been a while since the olden days of a good ol' game of marbles, and today, its become socially acceptable and agreeable to laugh off "I didn't do anything this summer." Increasing amounts of teens today don't don't a gosh darn thing! Summer break is a vacation meant to be enjoyed not just a period where we just sit around all day waiting for school to start again. If you think theres nothing to do during the hot blistering summer, you're very wrong.
